UPC/NTL ask customers to try speedtest.net too - no sign of 20mb down http://tinyurl.com/59nsb6 "no errors on your line will call you back"

That's a shame mine is working perfectly, but they do say on
their site that the plan is to have it all done at the end of this
month. And that's what we were told in work there too.
got the call back - solution might be to swap out the modem...
we had speeds of 14mb + down - just not over the last week or
two... we also have the speed out almost - modem is about 4 years
old so we will try that first.
sniff I just did a speed test today. We're on
190kb down and 90kb up at the moment.
This is driving me absolutely insane. Last Mile are absolutely
useless. It was great to talk to Martin from Airwire at the OCC BBQ
- he was a breath of fresh air.
We're hoping to improve things by mounting a relay dish on a
pole at the end of the field - we've got absolutely no line of
sight to the Last Mile dish. You would think they would have
mentioned this when they installed it before we moved into the
house, but no. What would the customer care, sure they won't have a
clue.
@alexloenard: there
is no point in me ranting about the state of Irish broadband as a
whole because everyone in Ireland already knows it but I still know
people on dial-up! I wonder how long it will take before we can
judge the Irish bb market as even 'adequate'?
