Irish broadband have a "burst" switch which I guess relates to latency on the speedtest for my connection.. so you might be getting 4x down but not a lot happens for 150ms :) is there any signal degrade with blistering sunshine outside ;)
@topgold that's going to be the no.1 problem with stage managing bandwidth at a hotel node - who knows how many are logged in - most hotels are unlikely to have anything more that 3 or 4 mb distributed - O2 used to have a "best wifi location" in the Burlo so often found myself giving presentations of live link ups during function room change overs..
@onlinemeetingrooms Just trying to grasp your problem. Is the issue the delay/latency on the receiving end of your service (i.e. hotel etc)? There are huge problems there mainly because crappy equipment, bad installs and overselling of services.
@onlinemeetingrooms If you're selling your service to hotels but want to be assured of sufficient capacity and stability of their wifi network we can maybe pitch together. Pull in @shaneymac with his mobanode product and we have a three-way service...
@onlinemeetingrooms Mobanode is a Bluetooth "local media distribution" device. It can be used to advertise to push messages to phones advertising the availability of the Online Meetingrooms service..
Missed this chatter guys as was driving down from Dublin...Interesting. @Evertb - tried to call you but busy. We'll hook up soon. @onlinemeetingroom - Joe - I can call you to let you know more re MobaNode...

I had not appreciated the effect of wifi bursting until I watched my side of an online meeting collapse with weak wifi.

Without being pedantic; what do you mean by "bursting"? Are you experiencing huge fluctuations in speed?
